Hand-Painted Mixed-Media Wearable Art Handbag.

For the woman who doesn’t want to see her bag on everyone else’s arm.

The SoHo starts with a blank 34" × 18" piece of soft cream canvas.

Before it ever becomes a handbag, I create the art.

That canvas gives me more than four square feet to work with, and with The SoHo, I wanted to take the artwork in a different direction.

This piece combines rich chocolate hand-painted stripes and abstract markings with mixed-media text elements, creating layers of color, texture and words across the canvas.

Some areas are bold and structured. Others are raw, imperfect and unexpected.

That's intentional.

The SoHo is meant to look like a piece that came straight out of an artist's studio.

Nothing about the artwork is designed to be perfectly repeated.

Once the original canvas artwork is complete, I take that 34" × 18" canvas and begin transforming it into The SoHo.

The canvas is cut, shaped and constructed into the finished handbag, then detailed with two statement front pockets. Each pocket becomes another piece of the artwork, featuring its own abstract hand-painted design, mixed-media detailing and flap closure.

A genuine leather handle completes the exterior, while the inside is fully lined and finished with an interior pocket.

What began as a blank canvas becomes an original piece of mixed-media art you can carry.

THE SOHO CAN BE RECREATED. YOUR SOHO CANNOT.

I can create another SoHo.

The handbag shape can return.

The two statement pockets can return.

I can work again with soft cream canvas, rich chocolate stripes, abstract markings and mixed-media elements.

But I cannot recreate this exact piece of artwork.

Every stripe is painted by hand.

Every abstract mark develops differently.

Every mixed-media element is placed as I'm creating the composition.

And once that finished canvas is cut, folded and constructed into a handbag, the artwork takes on another life of its own.

That's why no two SoHo bags will ever be exactly alike.

The style can return.

The color story can return.

The artwork cannot.

So yes, another woman may own The SoHo.

But she won't own your SoHo.

Every handbag in the Angelique Collections Fall Collection may begin with the same 34" × 18" soft cream canvas, but each blank canvas gives me an opportunity to tell a completely different story.

With The SoHo, I brought together painting and mixed media. Paint. Texture. Lines. Words. Layers.

Then I took all of it and turned it into a handbag.

The text isn't there because you're supposed to read the bag like a newspaper. It's part of the composition the words, type and fragments become another texture within the artwork.

That's what makes The SoHo different.

It isn't fabric that I purchased with a design already printed on it.

I created the design on the canvas before I created the handbag.

And instead of hanging that original mixed-media canvas on your wall,

you get to carry it.

The SoHo can be recreated. Your SoHo cannot.
